these quotes were all dramatic, funny, or things i have said myself. This book was the best because it was different. It was powerful in it's own way.

fav poems

these are my favorite poems. The first, third and  fourth poems were the poems iposted on my xanga and were the ones who helped my church leader through a hard time. It gave him faith and hope and gave me the same. I truly enjoyed this book because it gave me thought and realization of what i want in my relationship with God.

The second poem was the poem that Jen used for our poetry walk. I thought it was really nice and refliected who i was in some way.

PRAYERS: 1

DON’T LET ME FALL

AS A STONEFALLSUPON THE HARD GROUND

AND DON’T LET MY HANDS BECOME DRY

AS THE TWIGS OF A TREE

WHEN THE WIND BEATS DOWN THE LAST LEAVES,

AND WHEN THE STORM RAISES DUST FROM THE EARTH

WITH ANGER AND HOWLING,DON’T LET ME BECOME THE LAST FLY

TREMBLING TERRIFIED ON A WINDOWPANE

DON’T LET ME FALL

I HAVE ASKED SO MUCH, BUT AS A BLADE OF YOUR GRASS IN A DISTANT WILD FIELD

LETS DROP A SEED IN THE LAP OF THE EARTH

AND DIES AWAY, SOW IN ME YOUR LIVING BREATH

AS YOU SOW A SEED IN THE EARTH

Kadya Molodowsky

I am fully qualified to work as a doorkeeper and for this reason:

What is inside me, I don’t let out

What is outside me, I don’t let in.

If someone comes in, he goes right out again

He has nothing to do with me at all.

I am a doorkeeper of the HEART, not a lump of wet clay.

RABI’A

God Speaks to the soul

And God said to the soul:

I desire you before the world began

I desire you now

As you desire me

And where the desires of two come together

Their love is perfected

How the soul speaks to God

Lord you are my lover,

my longing,

my flowing stream

my sun

and I am your reflection

I cannot dance, O Lord, unless you lead me.

If you wish me to leap joyfully

Let me see you dance and sing

Then I ill leap into love

And from love into knowledge,

And from knowledge into the harvest

That sweetest fruit beyond human sense

THERE I WILL STAY WITH YOU, WHIRLING.

heartbreak

with this book, i feel there it was very real and i found a lot of quotes i liked. Most of these quotes related in someway to my family and that is the reason why i chose them.  Others are lines that stuck out in my head.

a heart breaking work of a staggaring genius QUOTES

She would cut herself while slicing vegtables, cut the living sh*t out of her finger, usually her thumb ad it would bleed everywhere, on the tomatoes, the cutting board, in the sink, while we watched at her waist, awed, scared she would die. - pg 16

Hell, we'll forget some people, people will understand, they'll have to- pg 25

tacky but practical, definitely practical, and it might also be fun, people chatting, lots of voices, we could use noise and distraction, not quiet, quiet not good. - pg 25

i don't want an apple- pg 18

where is your brother? -pg 123

The presence of all thses people is both surreal and immeasurably comforting. - pg 129

you talk to him about your interests, he gives you a test- pg 132

everyone is talking- 133

i'm alone and will never go out again- 161

nothing- 215

we have given someone something, that, like a primitive person fearing that a photgrapher will steal his soul, we identify out secrets, our pasts and theor blotches, wiht out identity, that revealing our habits or losses or deeds someoue makes one less of oneself.-215

you will die, and when you die, you will know a profouns lack of it. It's never dignifies, always brutal. What's dignifies about dying? It's never dignified - 217

it could be purely sentimental- 221

give me some parameters -384

fine, sorry i'm such a bother- 384

okay now- some page.

odyssey quotes

here are my favorite quotes from the odyssey. Although there aren't many i didn't find a lot of the sentences to be eloquent or beautiful. They were grusome and  descriptive...it made me hungry.

odessey quotes

as the sun sprang up, leaving the brilliant waters in its wake, climbing the bronze sky to shower light on immortal gods and mortal men across the plowlands ripe with grain - 107

i yearned to sail back home again!- 134

just racing for home-294

i never had doubts myself- 297

anwehre else before he landed here! -388

his words renewed her deep desire to weep, recognixint he stron clear signs...-398

ravage no more your lovely face with tears or consume your heart with grieving...- 399

modest words and sent them all into hot, indignant rage- 433

last week of school =)

It is 6:38 at the moment and its the first day of finals. Yesterday we all turned in our final drafts of our magnum opus. They are finally going to be published = / (eEeEeEk!) This class has truly been an experience. From the activities we did in and out of class to the papers we wrote. This class has broaden my outlook and given me a chance to find myself and experience things that i wouldn't have experienced otherwise.

The books we read we all interesting in their own way. At one point i was excited to crack open the books assigned to us.  The Odyssey, i read my freshmen year of high school, and i did dread readding it again, but it was a good refresher.  The next book was The Heartbreaking work of a Staggaring Genius. This book seemed better than the other book and it was =). The book was very realistic and gave me that thought as though he was talking to me. It was very real in the language it  was written. There were point of laughter, senmentalism and contemplation of what the heck he was doing. Maus was a great book. It was the longest comic I have ever read but it was one that i couldn't be put down. It was a different way to read a story and it was the first time o was exposed to a book of that sort. My favorite book out of this entire class was Women in Praise of the Sacred. The reason is obvious for those of you who know me. I enjoy artistic expression in any way and IT IS RELIGIOUS. yay! Two particular poems at one point helped my church leader through a tough time. Each poets' contribution helped this person.  The very last book was A Midsummer Night's Dream. I read this book my sophmore and i enjoyed it then and now. I enjoyed the activities we did with it in class such as the play within the play acting, where I thought i should have gotten the best actress award : o P ( kidding).

Each paper we wrote was very difficult because there was less and less subjects we could write about. My favorite paper i wrote in class was a poem that i wrote to become a song that related to a situation that i went through just recently. I think i over exxagerated the emotions i felt, but hey it is how i feel to an extent. The Magnum Opus was supposed to be an eye opener yet i feel that i knew all those things about myself. I believe it emphasized the importance of people in my life and the power of their influence but that was really it. I know that already...odd isn't it? Nyeh!

All in all, this quarter was an eye opener and i enjoyed it. I hope all of you do well on you finals and congrats to all of you who are transfering. I wish you the best although you guys won't need it. YOU ARE ALL HONOR STUDENTS. Have a great summer and live it up! God Bless and keep the Faith. DON'T DO ANYTHING I WOULDN'T DO, which by the way...is alot.
