O ARCADIA!

Thursday our class went to ARDCADIA playing at the Moutain View Performing Arts Center. Simon and I went to dinner at Marie Calenders where i ate an entire plate of pasta although i was full by the half way point. I felt disgusted aftewards. We went to pick up Kash at 7:30. We drove there, me being the navigator, listening to fallingUP and Evanescence. We got htere and we didn't see anyone, but Adriana. She was a little temptress...SHE HAD CHOCOLATE...not only regular chocolate, but MINT! MmMmMm.... anyway. We found Lovas and went in to save seats. Us four were like little children (well maybe it was just me). The play started and we tried saving seats. With every group that came in, we used our brain power to guide them to the other side. It was hilarious.

Overall the play was pretty interesting. We were all skeptical about how it was going to be, but i think it was great. Adriana and i were commenting on aspects of the play throughtout the entire play and we have decided that Septimus was the cutest guy in the entire play and we both liked the ribbon shoes that the little girl was wearing. We also talked about what time the future was being held in and Adriana declared that it was the 80's BECAUSE hannah was wearing a sweater that she used to have during that period.

The play did a great job in fusing the past and future together. When they came together, we were all a little confused, but we got it. When Gus/ Augustus came into both worlds...i was very confused. Gus couldn't speak (future) and Augustus was a rambunctous child. I enjoyed how the play ended with them finding all the answers, yet i wished i could have seen more about thomasina died...maybe more dramaticism...i don't know. It was a great experience.

and nominee for the best actress is....

Thursday class began in the sunken garden at DeAnza College. The weather was warm and beautiful and sprinkles of water from the fountain filled the air as the wind blew. The other group taped their portion first then my group. We chose a secluded area because of the fact that our first place we wanted (the fountain) was inaccessible and Jenn in our class had very sensitive skin. Oour group was prepared in the sense we brought props, but none of us knew our lines and how long they were. For the fact that this was an amature performance, it went pretty well. Great job Ewrt 1c- honors class!

We went back to class and talked about the play we were going to see at night. Lovas read us a little part of the play and it seemed to be interesting. At the end of class we had to turn in our magnum opus and sentence collection, which i forgot to print out my Shakespeare quotes...but they're here....so i'll turn it in on monday. I hope all of you have a great weekend and best of luck on finals. WE MADE IT! it's summer now!
