Check this out. Feelings can pretty much be summed up in one word; rage.

There are few things in the world that make me angrier than this. Personally, I think the perpetrator should be put in jail for a long long long long time (actually being hanged would be preferable), and those attempting the cover up should be put in jail for obstruction of justice. Maid abuse should be added to the long list of things (kidnapping, setting of fire arm, drug pushing, murder etc.) a person can be hanged for in Singapore. That and child abuse. Anyone that has the nerve to abuse people that have absolutely no where else to turn too should have splinters shoved up their nails and have their fingers slowly burnt off with the small flame of a lighter. Not to mention have their toes smashed with a hammer while someone else recites "this little piggy".

I'm aware it's pretty uncommon here for people to have a maid, but in Singapore and the surrounding countries, it is pretty common. In Singapore I think the average wage for a maid is about $350 to $400 a month or so. May sound low, but considering the maid is supposed to live with the employer, eat the employer's food and pretty much become part of the family, this wage is like the full disposable income of the maid.

I am aware of some families in Singapore that make their maid buy their own food and pay for their share of utilities. This is absolutely ridiculous. If one can afford the hire a maid, one sure as hell can afford to pay for her food and let her bathe.

Now for people to abuse young girls in a foreign country trying to earn enough money to support their families back home is absolutely despicable. They are under a person's employ, and if they make mistakes they should be disciplined. But abuse of this extent should not go unpunished. 8 - 10 years in prison at least, and if it were a guy (I cannot bring myself to use the word man here), the maximum of 24 strokes of the cane should be enforced. Even in this case, where it is a woman committing the abuse, I find it difficult to see any reason she should not be caned. At least those scars would serve as a (too small if you ask me) reminder of the kind of abuse the maid had to go through while living with you. And the B-I-A-T-C-H-E-S that committed these crimes should have their pictures splashed across the front pages of the newspapers with their name in big block bold letters (this would of course be only after they are proven guilty, but my reason for saying this shall be reserved for another entry).
