What is this obssesssion with guns? My experience with them have never been pleasant. Firing live rounds, shells flying out of a M-16 maybe Hollywood drama to most, but not too me. There is much more than the action portrayed in movies. I still dont understand about why do people need to carry guns while walking along the streets. Granted that it is for self-protection, but any weapon for for defensive puposes can be used as an offensive mechanism too. Its a double-edge sword that people should not be given the liberty to brandish it around to scare of intruders. Why? the intruders may just show off their toys too. The result? A fire fight which neither party would benefit and lots of innocent by-standers' lives are endangered.

Maybe its because i am not from around here, so someone explain this to me.
